“God does not play dice with the universe” however I do believe that the way our brain models the universe does. Nothing about what we observe is exactly accurate; looking out into the world every event has already happen including our brains’ firing off of large number neurons compensating and creating as best as it can what is perceived as an event at some later time after the neurons had started firing off.
Even though conventional wisdom say we may be entering the realm of quantum mechanics as I proceed with this topic, I request caution, for quantum mechanics itself may suffer from a case of over fitting of a theory to its results. Add to the fact we are relying on a form of mathematics that relies on the differentiability on the manifold for the fundamental postulates, which is reasonably for macro objects, seem to me totally unreasonable for objects were the epsilon/delta approaches the dimensions of the micro object.
An event could be described as E(t+1) = P(t+1) * E(t); the probability I now observe an event is probability that I now observe the event that occurred at some earlier time. As t+1 -> t, P(t + 1) -> 1 and E(t+1) -> E(t). The rub with this equation is we still don’t truly understand what t and t + 1 is other than giving the name “time” to the value t. So lets see if we can do a little better. We use word second as a unit of time and one second is defined as the duration of 9,192,631,770 periods of the radiation corresponding to the transition between the two hyperfine levels of the ground state of the cesium 133 atom. So, for operational purposes time could be defined as flow of energy –from where to where is not clear at this time –The fact that the universe expansion is accelerating and it is spherical could be used to say whatever is forcing the accelerated expansion of the universe is time.
